Cover Supervisor/Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

The role of a Cover Supervisor/HLTA is a flexible and varied role, of which will give you the perfect insight into life in school and can provide excellent preparation for your teacher training- if you’re considering this route.  Whether you are looking for a part-time or full-time role, we’d love to hear from you!

The role includes:

• Delivery of work set by the class teacher (you are not expected to      plan work)
• Establish positive relationships with students and setting high      expectations
• Effectively manage behaviour, according to the school behaviour policy
• Provide feedback to the class teacher and return feedback to      students under the guidance of the teacher
• Ensure school policies are adhered to

• Be educated to degree level or have experience of working with the      11-16 age group
• Have an Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or be willing to apply      for one
• Provide a CV covering your last 10 years of employment/ study
• Have the legal right to work in the UK
• An overseas police check, if applicable
• Two references (covering the last two years- one of which to be      your current or most recent employer)
